Heathcotes took home the award for best use of technology at this year’s prestigious Catey awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. The award recognises Heathcotes use of integrated technologies in its reservations & marketing systems.
Heathcotes faced stiff competition from industry heavyweights Premier Inn and £1bn catering company, Compass. Paul Heathcote said: “Compared to the other nominees we are a small company so it was a real honour to be announced as the winner. We are committed to hospitality & one way of improving the customer experience is by embracing cutting edge technology.
The award was presented to Heathcotes sales & marketing manager, Danny Taylor, by comedian Michael McIntyre in front of 1,200 of the who’s who of the catering industry, including Gary Rhodes, Raymond Blanc and Brian Turner. Danny said ‘This is a fantastic achievement & I’m absolutely delighted we’ve been recognised with such a prestigious award. We always look to pioneer new technologies and the Catey award reflects all the hard work & dedication put in by the team’
Gary Scott, operations manager at Heathcotes, said:”Technology doesn’t replace real people but allows the team to concentrate on raising and improving the customer experience. This is about combining committed people & supporting them with the latest communication tools out there”
This is the third Catey award for Heathcotes, in the past Paul has been honoured with the best newcomer and the best restaurateur.
